Here are the two and four-legged creatures who fuel my life. My wife, Crys Fagan, has a Ph.D. in biochemistry, cellular and developmental biology from Emory university. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Ferré-D'Amaré lab at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She did her doctoral work in the Dunham Lab, Department of Biochemistry at Emory University. She works on RNA. I understand about 50% of the biochemistry in her work presentations. We attribute this high number to Crys' use of food analogies and her well-intentioned attempts to use political analogies to explain her work. I find the latter especially amusing.
We had two rescued dogs, Cody and Galen. Galen is now in doggy heaven while Cody has fully embraced her single-child status, She works hard to keep us on our toes. This little family lives for adventures, the food, hiking and travel kind. Most of the rest of my family lives in India. This ensures that I visit often - both to see them and to keep a finger on the pulse of Indian politics.
